Their experience and their wisdom being the great basis for stories that warm the heart or make us smile and wise words that help us learn and grow. I think it was this that was the catalyst for me being a nurse as I recall feeling a great sense of fulfilment and enjoyment when we entertained the local older people at our Don Valley sixth form during Christmas 93.

She gave birth when she was just 12 years old and her daughter had a baby at the age of 11. Also in the news was the story of the woman set to become Britain’s youngest grandmother aged 29. She said her daughter becoming a teen mum was ‘her worst nightmare’.Doncaster has levels of teenage pregnancy higher than the national average. Although rates are the lowest they’ve been for over 20 years, there are still about 350 teenagers in Doncaster becoming pregnant each year.
