First meeting in Doncaster for new NHS board
THE board of directors responsible for overseeing the work of the five NHS primary care trusts (PCTs) in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw will hold their first meeting in Doncaster next week.
The NHS South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cluster board will meet at NHS Doncaster’s headquarters at White Rose House, Ten Pound Walk, Doncaster, DN4 5DJ at 2pm on Monday 19th December. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
As part of on-going Government changes to the NHS, the five PCTs of NHS Barnsley, NHS Bassetlaw, NHS Doncaster, NHS Rotherham and NHS Sheffield have been ‘clustered’ together under the direction of a single board of directors since 1st October this year. The cluster board, which comprises executive and non-executive directors drawn from the five PCTs, meet on a monthly basis, rotating their meetings around the five geographical areas.
The five PCTs, which are proposed to disappear in 2013 to be replaced by Clinical Commissioning Groups led by local GPs, no longer hold individual monthly board meetings.
